GRAND COUNTY, UT. (THECOUNT) — Emmalynn Herbstritt, of Moab, Utah, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday fatal climbing accident in Grand County.

Herbstritt, 21, was killed in a rock climbing fall in Moab Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, Herbstritt, a canyoneering guide, was rock climbing in the area of Morning Glory Arch in Negro Bill Canyon, when she fell around 1:45 p.m. Saturday.

Herbstritt was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Grand County Sheriff’s Department issued the following statement:

“Grand County Sheriff deputies, search and Rescue members, Grand County EMS, National Park Service Rangers, along with Bureau of Land of Land Management Rangers responded to the location of the unresponsive individual.”
