ROANOKE COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Joanie Scott, of Goodview, Virginia, has been identified as the victim in a Monday fatal vehicle crash in Roanoke County.
Scott, 20, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Roanoke early Monday morning.
According to reports, Scott was traveling as a passenger in a vehicle on the 2600 block of East Ruritan Road in Roanoke, when for unknown reasons, possible speed related, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway round 1:15 a.m. Monday.
The driver and two other passengers were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries
Scott, who was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck, was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
According to police, charges are pending against the driver.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
