GUILFORD COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Rudy Thompson III, of Greensboro, North Carolina, has been identified as the driver arrested following a deadly suspected DUI crash in Guilford County early Sunday morning
Hugo Sarceno Hernandez, 24, of Greensboro, was killed in a two-vehicle crash Sunday morning involving a suspected impaired driver.
According to reports, Hernandez was operating a 2006 Toyota Corolla exiting a parking lot to enter Randleman Road around 2:20 a.m. Sunday, when a Volkswagen Passat operated by Thompson came into contact with the Toyota.
Hernandez died as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
Thompson was taken into custody and is being charged with the following:
Aggravated felony death by motor vehicle
Driving while impaired
Driving while license revoked
Thompson was given a $25,000 bond.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
