PIMA COUNTY, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Benjamin Willhite, of Tucson, Arizona, has been identified as the Pima County jail inmate found dead in his cell on Thursday evening.
Willhite, 41, who had been in custody since Wednesday on a drug felony warrant, was found deceased in his Pima County Adult Detention Complex cell on Thursday evening.
According to reports, Willhite was found unresponsive in his cell at the Pima County facility around 5:10 p.m. Thursday. Staff members attempted to administer live-saving measures, however, the Tucson Fire Department arrived and pronounced Willhite dead at the scene.
A cause of death was not provided.
The investigation remains ongoing.
