WESTMORELAND COUNTY, PA. (THECOUNT) — Christopher Howe, of Blairsville, Pennsylvania, has been identified as the victim in an overnight fatal vehicle crash in Westmoreland County.
Chris Howe, 36, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Derry Township early Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Howe was operating a vehicle on PA-217 near Cherry Street in Blairsville, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway around 3 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle then came into contact with a guardrail and went airborne. The vehicle then hit a tree and burst into flames.
Howe, who was ejected from the vehicle during the wreck, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
