CUSTER COUNTY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Tina Smith and Alexis Smith, of Custer City, Oklahoma, has been identified as the victims in a triple-fatal crash Monday in Custer County.
Tina, 45, and her teenage daughter Alexis, were both killed Monday afternoon in a head-on crash that also took the life of a child in Weatherford.
According to reports, A 24-year-old woman was operating a Ford Expedition on N 2310 Road and East 980 Road in Weatherford, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crosse centerlines and into opposing lanes around 3 p.m. Monday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Nissan Juke, operated by Tina.
Officials say the driver of the Ford was transported to an area hospital in good condition. A 4-year-old boy traveling in the vehicle was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries. Another child in the vehicle suffered unknown injuries.
Tina and Alexa were pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
