SC Woman Bessie Durham ID’d As Body Found Inside Bathroom Stall At Columbiana Mall Belk Store

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Bessie Mae Durham, of Lexington, South Carolina, has been identified as the woman found dead inside a Belk Department Store bathroom Monday in Richland County.

The body of Durham, 63, was found in the bathroom of the Columbiana Mall store on Monday after not being seen since Thursday, according to police.

Durham’s family said they were filing a missing persons report when they notified by the store that a body was found in a bathroom stall.

According to reports, Durham worked as a janitor at the Columbiana Mall store, located at 100 Columbiana Cir in Columbia.

Police said Durham’s janitor cart was located outside of a public bathroom and her body was found in an individual stall of that same bathroom.

Police said the investigation is in the early stages but so far there is no indication of foul play.
