RENO COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Michael Godwin Sr., of McPherson, Kansas, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday afternoon fatal vehicle crash in Reno County.
Mike Godwin, 46, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Hutchinson Tuesday afternoon.
According to reports, Godwin was operating a GMC van on Old K-61 Highway near the John Neal Memorial Highway outside of Hutchinson, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 2 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then came to a rest after entering a culvert.
Godwin was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
