FILLMORE COUNTY, MN. (THECOUNT) — Nicholas Sprau of Chatfield, Minnesota, has been identified as the suspected impaired driver in a Saturday night fatal vehicle-versus-motorcycle crash in Fillmore County.
Ricky Hutton, 36, of Rochester, was killed in a two-vehicle motorcycle crash involving an SUV, operated by 57-year-old “Nick” Sprau near Chatfield Saturday night.
According to reports, Sprau was operating an SUV near his residence on Highway 52 outside of Chatfield, when the vehicle came into contact with an motorcycle, operated by Hutton around 10 p.m. Saturday.
Hutton was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
Sprau and his passenger were uninjured in the collision. A subsequent police report indicated alcohol was detected in the SUV driver.
It is unclear if anyone was cited or taken into custody at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
