BAHAMAS. (THECOUNT) — Shavez Hart, an Olympic sprinter and former Texas A&M star, has been identified as the man shot and killed in the Bahamas on Saturday night.
Hart, 29, was fatally shot while reportedly attempting to break up a fight outside of a nightclub in the Bahamas on Saturday.
According to the Royal Bahamas Police, the incident happened in Mount Hope, North Abaco (about 120 miles north of Nassau) around 2 AM, reports TMZ.
The report states a group of males got into a physical altercation in the parking lot when one male — who left and returned with a gun — opened fire, hitting Hart in the chest.
Hart was transported to the Marsh Harbour Clinic where he was pronounced dead.
The tragic death occurred just days before Hart’s 30th birthday.
