OKALOOSA COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Joel Burton, of Dayton, Ohio, has been identified as the pedestrian struck along with another man in Okaloosa County, Florida on Sunday.

Burton, 42, was killed, and Zebulon Dill, 32, also of Dayton, was injured, after they were hit by a car in Fort Walton Sunday morning.

According to reports, Colt Shelton, 20, of Fort Walton Beach was operating a vehicle, when he came into contact with the two men who were on-foot in the area of Florida Highway 98 near a Holiday Inn Express.

Burton, a pastor at Simple Street Ministries in Harrison Township, Ohio, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dill suffered a broken leg and lacerations and was transported to an area hospital.

Shelton was not injured in the collision.

No arrests were made at the scene and the crash remains under investigation.
