NY Woman Carling Mott ID’d As Victim Run Over By Truck After Falling Off Citi Bike In NY Tuesday

NEW YORK, NY. (THECOUNT) — Carling Mott, of Manhattan, New York, has been identified as the victim in a fatal fall off a Citi Bike Tuesday afternoon in New York.

Mott, 28, was killed after falling from a City Bike near her Yorkville home and being run over by a tractor-trailer Tuesday afternoon in Manhattan.

According to reports, Mott was at a stop light while traveling on a Citi Bike on E 85th Street near Madison Avenue and Park Avenue, when for unknown reasons, she and the bike fell over on to the street. She was then run over by Great Dane tractor-trailer around 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Mott, who was originally from Ocean City, New Jersey, was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

No charges have been announced against the truck driver, who remained at the scene and fully cooperated with police.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
