Zachary Barfield ID’d As Victim In Sunday Night SC Fatal Vehicle Crash

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Zachary Barfield has been identified as the victim in a Sunday night fatal vehicle crash near St. George.

Barfield, 19, was killed in a single-vehicle crash Sunday night.

According to reports, Barfield was operating a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck on Wire Road near Old Peafield Road, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.

Barfield, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead on the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
