GASTON COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Christian Beaty, of Belmont, North Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian in a Saturday night fatal hit-and-run in Gaston County.
Beaty, 22, was killed, and another individual injured, in a vehicle-versus-pedestrian collision in Belmont Saturday night.
According to reports, Beaty was walking in the bike lane with another person on Catawba street in Belmont, when they were struck by a pickup truck that then fled the scene around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.
Beaty was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The other pedestrian was treated for minor injuries.
The involved vehicle is described as a dark-colored pickup truck with large tires.
