MONROE COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Rep Lee Zeldin (R-NY) was attacked on stage by an armed man Thursday night during a campaign stop in Monroe County, New York.
Zeldin was delivering a speech at a VFW hall in Fairport, New York, when the suspect rushed the stage, began yelling and then attacked the congressman.

During the ensuing struggle, the suspect brandished a knife.
According to reports, multiple military veterans ran on the stage and tackled the suspect.
Zeldin was not injured in the incident.
