SARASOTA COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — An elderly resident of the Boca Royale Golf and Country Club in Englewood, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a vicious alligator attack near her Sarasota County home.
The woman, who has not yet been identified, was killed after she was attacked by a pair of alligators after falling in a pond near her home in Englewood.
The grisly attack occurred at the club located at, 1601 Englewood Rd in Englewood.
According to reports, the woman was struggling to stay afloat after falling in the pond when two nearby alligators grabbed her.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to the area to capture the alligators from the pond for further investigation.
