SALINE COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Jennifer Michelle Wangerin, of Salina, Kansas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday vehicle crash in Saline County.
Wangerin, 38, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Salina Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, a 16-year-old male from Solomon was operating a Jeep Commander in East Magnolia Road near Salina, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes Sunday afternoon. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Dodge Ram pickup truck operated by Wangerin.
Wangerin was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
A youth passenger in the Dodge suffered minor injuries.
The teen Jeep driver was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
