ROWAN COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Wendy Paulette Ervin, of China Grove, North Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a pedestrian-versus-train collision in Rowan County Saturday.
Ervin, 41, was killed Saturday afternoon after she was struck by an Amtrak train Friday near China Grove.
According to reports, officials responded to a person struck by an Amtrak train near Beaver Street around 4 p.m. Saturday.
Ervin was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The Amtrak passenger train stopped after striking Ervin.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
