DARKE COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Charles and Krista Zimmer, of Greenville, Ohio, have been identified as the husband and wife involved in a fatal crop dusting helicopter crash in Darke County Tuesday.
Charles, 34, was severely injured and 35-year-old Krista was killed, in a Tuesday morning helicopter crash near Greenville.
According to reports, Charles was operating a Enstrom F-28F helicopter with Krista as his passenger, when the aircraft went down and burst into flame around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Charles was flown to Miami Valley Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Krista was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
