WAKE COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Ronnie and Amy Shirley, the husband and wife owners of Lizard Lick Towing, a towing and repossession business featured in a now canceled truTV reality TV show, say their 21-year-old son, Harley, was killed in a shooting in Wake County, North Carolina on Thursday.

Ronnie Shirley took to Facebook Saturday to confirmed that Harley was fatally shot and a young woman suffered injuries in the town of Garner late Thursday.

Shirley and his wife Amy starred in “Lizard Lick Towing,” which aired on truTV from 2011 to 2014.

“He’s at peace now — waiting on the rest of us to arrive at those gates — we will be there soon Big Shur — and will always cherish the times we had while you were with us son,” Ronnie Shirley wrote on Facebook.

According to reports, deputies responded to a reported shooting at a home around 8 p.m. Thursday. Capt. Jeff Caldwell said in a news release that soon after that, a caller reported people with gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a Sheetz gas station, about 3 miles north of the home, report local news outlets.

When they arrived, deputies found Shirley suffering from apparent gunshot injuries. He who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The unidentified 20-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital in unknown injuries.

The shooting remains under investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
