MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Monique Kistner, of Phoenix, Arizona, has been identified as the victim fatally shot at her home Wednesday night in Maricopa County.
Kistner, 60, was shot and killed Wednesday night at a home in the Phoenix community of Ahwatukee. Her son, 33-year-old Robert Kistner was taken into custody.
According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired at a home near 5th Avenue and E. Chandler Boulevard in Phoenix. When they arrived, Robert Kistner, who had placed the 911 call reporting a shooting, was standing outside the home with his hands up around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday.
Monique Kistner was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot wounds.
Robert Kistner later admitting to shooting his mother twice.
Officials offered no motive in the deadly incident.
The investigation remains ongoing.
