LENOIR COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Amy Jo Tyndall, of New Bern, North Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian in a fatal Tuesday night hit-and-run vehicle strike in Lenoir County.
Tyndall, 43, was crossing the highway when she was struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene Tuesday night near Kinston.
According to reports, Tyndall was on-foot with another individual on Highway 11 South near Ashland Drive in Kinston, when Tyndall was struck by a passing vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. The involved vehicle then fled the scene.
Tyndall was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The other unidentified pedestrian was not injured.
Officials described the involved vehicle as a “dark in color” four-door.
