LANCASTER COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Takeisha Massey, of Lancaster, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Saturday shooting in Lancaster County.

Massey, 38, was fatally shot in Lancaster Saturday Afternoon. Curtis Townsend, 21, has been named as the suspect arrested after he is believed to have shot Massey during an argument Saturday afternoon.

According to reports, police responded to 2302 Caroline Court in Lancaster, on call of shots fired Saturday around noon. When they arrived, Massey was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Massey was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

Townsend was later located hiding in a trash can. He was taken into custody without further incident.

The deadly incident remains under investigation by the Lancaster Police Department, the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Lancaster County Multijurisdictional Violent Crime Task Force.
