LAFAYETTE COUNTY, WI. (THECOUNT) — Timothy Russett, of Mineral Point, Wisconsin, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday night fatal vehicle crash in Lafayette County.
Russett, 27, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Darlington Saturday night.
According to reports, Russett was operating a passenger vehicle on WI-81 near Darlington Saturday, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 10 p.m. The vehicle then came into contact with a mini-bus, operated by 31-year-old Matthew J. Barry of Beloit, Wisconsin.
Russett was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
Barry suffered minor injuries in the wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
