EVANGELINE PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Luke Fontenot, of Oakdale, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday fatal vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor in Evangeline Parish.
Fontenot, 19, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Beaver Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Fontenot was operating a Nissan Rogue on LA-106 near Beaver, when the vehicle came into contact with a big-rig hauling a logging trailer around 8 a.m. Tuesday. Both vehicle then burst into flames.
Fontenot was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force and thermal injuries.
The driver of the 18-wheeler suffered minor injuries in the wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
