MIDLAND COUNTY, MI. (THECOUNT) — Lawrence Malnar and Janet Malnar, both of Gladwin, Michigan, have been identified as the victims in a Wednesday afternoon double-fatal vehicle crash in Midland County.

Lawrence, 69, and Janet, 75, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a dump truck in Mills Township Wednesday.

According to reports, Lawrence was operating a Ford F-150 pickup truck on E Shaffer Rd near N Sturgeon Rd in Mills Township, when the vehicle came into contact with a dump truck around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Lawrence was pronounced dead on the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

Janet was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

The 57-year-old Midland man who was operating the dump truck was uninjured in the crash.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
