MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Jack Tyler Wert, of Damascus, Maryland, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday night fatal vehicle crash in Montgomery County.
Wert, 27, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Gaithersburg Sunday night.
According to reports, a Volkswagen Jetta, operated by 17-year-old Ryan Alexander Yoder, of Olney, was traveling on Airpark Road near Muncaster Mill Road in Gaithersburg, when the vehicle came into contact with a dump truck around 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
Wert, a passenger of the dump truck, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Yoder and the driver of the dump truck were transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are asking anyone with possible information on the wreck to call 240-773-6620.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
