NASH COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Emery Barton, of Clayton, North Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday morning vehicle crash in Nash County.
Barton, 19, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Nashville Wednesday morning.
According to reports, Barton was operating a vehicle on U.S. 64 in Nashville, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 7 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then made contact with a grouping of trees.
Barton was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
