FRANKLIN COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Linda Purdy, of Columbus, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday murder-suicide in Franklin County.
Purdy, 47, was killed in a suspected murder-suicide near Gahanna Thursday afternoon.
According to reports, Gahanna Division of Police located Purdy suffering from fatal wounds that were first thought to be stab wounds at a residence located at, 131 Brookhill Drive in Gahanna. Those wounds would later be reclassified as gunshot injuries.
Purdy was pronounced dead at the scene on Thursday.
At the time, investigators identified the victim’s boyfriend, 51-year old Edward A. Johnson, of Alpharetta, as a possible suspect.
Huber Heights Police later conducted a traffic stop on Johnson just before noon on Thursday. Police say Johnson fatally shot himself during the stop. He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
