HARRIS COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Mikell Potts, of Houston, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal New Year’s Eve shooting in Harris County.

Potts, 16, a Dekaney High School quarterback, was shot dead Thursday night near Remington Ranch.


According to reports, Potts was on-foot in the area of 600 block of Kiley Drive, when someone inside a vehicle opened fire around 8 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then fled the scene.

No suspect or motive information was provided by officials as of Friday.
