BEXAR COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Jay Mejia, of San Antonio, Texas, has been identified as the victim killed in a DUI vehicle crash in Bexar County Thursday morning.
Mejia, 33, was killed in a wrong-way vehicle crash involving a suspected drunk driver near San Antonio Thursday morning.
According to reports, 26-year-old Alejandro Montoya Rodriguez, was operating a vehicle the wrong-way on Loop 410 in San Antonio, when it came into head-on contact with a vehicle operated by Mejia.
Mejia, former Air Force and current University Hospital nurse, was killed in the collision.
Another driver, who crashed attempting to avoid Rodriguez, also died at the scene. That driver’s name has not yet been released.
Rodriguez was transported to University Hospital where he was later booked on DUI and other charges.
