MARICOPA COUNTY, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Edward Martinez, of Phoenix, Arizona, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Christmas morning vehicle crash in Maricopa County.
Martinez, 21, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Phoenix early Friday morning.
According to reports, Martinez was operating a pickup truck on Interstate 10 near the 67th Ave exit, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and wrecked around 1:30 a.m. Friday. The vehicle then came into contact with the median and several utility poles.
Martinez, who was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
