LITCHFIELD, CT. (THECOUNT) — Elijah David Bertrand has been identified as the suspect sought in the Tuesday night murder of a UPS employee in Litchfield County, Connecticut. Bertrand was located and arrested Wednesday afternoon and held on a $2 million bond.
Bertrand, 19, has been named as the suspect in the fatal attack of UPS driver, Nathan Burk, near Watertown Tuesday.
According to reports, Bertrand, a possible, UPS ‘Helper,’ was being sought in the murder of a UPS employee near exit 37 along Route 8 in Waterbury.
According to a Facebook post, Burk was fatally stabbed during the attack.
UPS released a statement about the driver’s death on Wednesday morning.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our colleague, and are cooperating with the investigation,” said Matthew O’Connor, media relations, UPS. “Any additional information will need to be provided by local authorities.”
