CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — James Daniel Mckethan Jr, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, has been identified as the pedestrian in a fatal Friday night vehicle strike in Cumberland County.
Mckethan, 42, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle near Fayetteville Friday night.
According to reports, Mckethan was on-foot in the area of Hwy 24 and N Plymouth Street in Fayetteville, when he was struck by a passing vehicle around 10 p.m. Friday.
Mckethan was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
As of Saturday morning, no charges have been filed against the driver, Ajaleann J. Chico-Romo, 24, of Fayetteville, who was operating a Toyota Corolla at the time of the collision.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
