CARTER COUNTY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Carissa M. Womble and Coleman W. McGiffin, have been identified as the drivers killed in a Thursday night vehicle crash in Carter County, Oklahoma.
Womble, 42, and McGiffin, 25, were both killed in a two-vehicle crash near Springer Thursday night.
According to reports, McGiffin was operating a vehicle on State Highway 53E in Springer, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with Womble’s pickup truck.
Three passengers inside Womble’s vehicle were seriously injured in the crash.
McGuffin and Womble, of Garland, Texas, were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
