SCOTT COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Abigail Jansen, of Kelso, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a Sunday afternoon fatal vehicle crash in Scott County.
Jansen, 17, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Kelso Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, Jansen was operating a vehicle on Interstate 55 near mile marker 88, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 12 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle then made contact with a tree ejecting the teenager.
Jansen was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
