PINELLAS COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Chad Bennett, of St. Petersburg, Florida, has been identified as the bicyclist fatally struck by a vehicle early Sunday morning in Pinellas County.
Bennett, 37, was killed in a bicycle-versus-vehicle collision near St. Petersburg Sunday morning.
According to reports, Bennett was operating a bicycle on 2nd Avenue North, North Downtown in St. Petersburg, when the bike came into contact with a Toyota RAV4 around 1:30 a.m. Sunday.
Bennett was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
