POLK COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Former Lakeland City Florida Commissioner, Edith Yates, and her husband David Henderson, have been identified as the couple found murdered Tuesday inside their Lakeland residence.

Yates, 67 and Henderson, 63, were both found dead inside their Lakeland home on Tuesday.

According to reports, the couple were found deceased of an apparent homicide inside their residence, located at, 127 Lake Morton Dr in Lakeland, after police performed a welfare check.

Police say they are searching for suspects and offred no motive in the killings.

A cause of death was not provided by officials.

Yates served as a Lakeland City Commissioner from 2006 until the beginning of 2018.
