RUSH COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Kameron Cox, of Rushville, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a Tuesday morning fatal vehicle crash in Rush County.
Cox, 16, was killed and another teen was injured in a single-vehicle crash near Rushville Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Cox was traveling as a passenger in a Chevrolet Malibu on County Road 300 in Rushville, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then went airborne and made contact with a substantial tree.
Cox, who was ejected during the crash, was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The 16-year-old driver, who was also transported to an area hospital, suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
