LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — William Matt Lichius, of Lexington, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday Interstate 70 vehicle crash in Lafayette County.
Lichius, 50, was killed in a two vehicle crash on I-70 near Bates City Saturday afternoon.
According to reports, Lichius was operating a Land Rover on I-70 in Bates City, when the vehicle was rear-ended by a Kenworth semi-tractor around 12:30 p.m. Saturday.
The force of the crash caused the Land Rover to exit the roadway and rollover.
Lichius was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The big-rig driver was not injured.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
