IREDELL COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Payton Alizabeth Cannon, the daughter of Charlotte “Ace & TJ” radio show host, David “Ace” Cannon, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday vehicle crash in Iredell County.
Payton, 21, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Mooresville Wednesday just after midnight.
According to reports, Payton was operating a vehicle on a roadway in Mooresville, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 12 a.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
Payton, the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
