DALLAS COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Michael Robinson, of Dallas, Texas, has been identified as the suspect arrested in the sexual assault and subsequent murder of his grandmother, 71-year-old Irish Harrison.

Robinson, 32, was taken into custody and charged with capital murder in the alleged sexual assault of Harrison. He admitted to then bludgeoning her to death with a fire extinguisher at her home in Dallas.

According to reports, Robinson was arrested after officers responded to a call of a disturbance at a home, located at 4922 Terry St in Dallas, on Saturday morning. On arrival, Harrison was found dead in her bedroom.

According to the affidavit, Robinson went to the home to visit his grandmother when he allegedly began sexually assaulting her and then punched and kicked her in the head and body.

The 32-year-old then struck her “several times” in the head with a fire extinguisher, which led to her death, according to the affidavit.

Police said witnesses entered the home Saturday morning and found Harrison dead and Robinson in the living room. Police were summoned and arrested him without further incident at the home.

Police said Robinson admitted to sexually assaulting and killing his grandmother.

Robinson was transported to jail and charged with capital murder.
