COMAL COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Michael John Maraist, of Corpus Christi, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Saturday night vehicle crash in Comal County.
Maraist, 26, was killed in a vehicle crash involving a van near San Antonio Saturday night.
According to reports, Maraist was operating a Ford Focus in the 600 block of South Business Interstate Highway 35 in New Braunfels, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 11 p.m. Saturday. The vehicle then collided with a Ford Transit 350 van.
The six people traveling in the van, including four children, were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Maraist was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
