EL PASO COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Patrick A. Tedford, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, has been identified as the pedestrian in a fatal El Paso County, Texas vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon.

Tedford, 65, was struck and killed Tuesday afternoon by a teenage driver near El Paso.

According to reports, Tedford was operating a Ford F-250 pickup truck towing a fifth-wheel RV in the 11300 block of Gateway South Boulevard in El Paso, when he exited the vehicle to inspect the RV. At some point, a Toyota Corolla, operated by 19-year-old Jayden Martin, rear-ended Tedford and his vehicle.

The collision crushed Tedford between the RV and the Toyota.

Tedford was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

It is unclear if Martin was injured in the wreck, if anyone was cited at the scene or if any charges are pending.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
