WOODBURY COUNTY, IA. (THECOUNT) — Daqown Ariel Sams, of Twentynine Palms, California, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Tuesday vehicle crash involving a semi-truck in Woodbury County, Iowa.
Sams, 32, was killed in two-vehicle collision near Sioux City on Tuesday Morning.
According to reports, Sams was operating a vehicle in the 4500 block of Business Highway 75 North in Sioux City, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 6:20 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then collided head-on with a semi-tractor.
The semi driver, whose name was not provided by officials, suffered minor injuries in the collision.
Sams was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
