LAKE COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Theodore Danis Hickman of Portage, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Thursday morning motorcycle crash in Lake County.
Hickman, 21, was killed in a motorcycle collision involving a big-rig during a police pursuit near Gary early Thursday morning.
According to reports, Hickman was fleeing police while operating a motorcycle on I-80/94, when the bike came into contact with the rear of a semi-trailer around 1 a.m. Thursday near Lake Station.
Hickman was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The truck driver was uninjured during the incident.
It is unknown why Hickman was being pursued by police.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
