MEADE COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Verna Louise Mandrell, of Lubbock, Texas, was identified as the victim in a Monday night vehicle crash in Meade County, Kansas.
Mandrell, 48, was killed in a vehicle crash involving two big-rigs near Fowler, Kansas Monday night.
According to reports, Mandrell was operating a Ford Edge on US-54 in Fowler, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes. The vehicle came into contact with a Freightliner Semi operated by Aman D. Singh, 41, of Turlock, California, and a Volvo semi-tractor, operated by Jagpreet Singh, 28, of Ripon, California, around 6:15 a.m. Monday.
Mandrell was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The truck drivers were uninjured in the collision.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
