AVOYELLES PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Shirley Reed of Alexandria, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Saturday night multi-vehicle crash in Avoyelles Parish.
Reed, 54, was killed in a Saturday evening vehicle crash that also injured two other women near Marksville.
According to reports, Lennie Lemonie, 32, was operating a Ford F-150 pickup truck on LA-1 & neat State Highway 1192, when the vehicle rear ended a slow moving Maxima which traveled into the rear of a Silverado around 7 p.m. Saturday night.
Lemonie and the driver of the Maxima were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries.
Reed, a passenger in the Maxima, was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
