ST. MARTIN PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Brandon Jean Batiste, of Saint Martinville, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal two-vehicle crash in Saint Martin Parish Thursday evening.
Batiste, 46, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near St. Martinville Thursday evening.
According to reports, a teen driver was operating a Chevrolet Suburban on Hwy 182 near Boudreaux Road in St. Martin Parish, when the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 5:30 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a Mitsubishi Mirage operated by Batiste.
Batiste was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
It’ unclear if the teen was injured.
Officials say charges are pending.
