FAIRFIELD COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Shin Iisaka, of Grandview Heights, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Tuesday evening bicycle collision involving a possible DUI driver in Fairfield County.
Iisaka, 47, was killed in a vehicle-versus-bicycle collision Tuesday night near Pickerington in Violet Township.
According to reports, Iisaka, a known cycling enthusiast, was operating his bicycle on Basil Western Rd near Pickerington Rd in Violet Township, when he was struck by suspected DUI driver, 42-year-old Joshua P. Osmar of Canal Winchester, around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday.
Iisaka was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma and transported straight to the morgue.
Osmar is facing possible charges in the deadly incident.
Local news outlets identified the victim as, “Shin Isiaka.”
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
